PLEASE NOTE: As of May 19, 2022, there have been several updates made to the provincial legislation with the Off-Road Vehicles Act and Regulations coming into effect.
This includes ATVs, UTVs, and snowmobiles all falling under one category, with new definitions as to what is considered an off-road vehicle. Helmets are now required to be worn in most circumstances and seat belts must be used where installed by the manufacturer.
Currently, anyone under the age of 16 MUST be supervised while operating an off-road vehicle and may ONLY operate a vehicle appropriate for their weight and age per the manufacturer’s guidelines.
Course requirements are also now in place for anyone:
- Under 16 years of age
- registering an off-road vehicle for the first time
- convicted of an offence under the Act or Regulations and their registration has been suspended or cancelled.
